Benedikt Hellsberg began his musical training at the age of eight with cello lessons under Cecilia Ottensamer at the Vienna Conservatory Private University. After the preparatory programme, he transferred in 2013 to the class of Robert Nagy at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. From September 2014, he continued his studies with Othmar Müller at the Joseph Haydn Conservatory of Burgenland, where he completed his first diploma in concert performance in June 2019.
From the 2019/20 season through the 2021/22 season, Benedikt served as an academy member of the Bruckner Orchestra Linz. Since September 2022, he has been a member of the Orchestra of the Vienna Volksoper.
As a dedicated chamber musician, he has performed on prominent stages including the Vienna Musikverein, the Vienna State Opera, the Grand Festival Hall in Salzburg, and Suntory Hall in Tokyo. His concert partners include Yefim Bronfman, Lang Lang, Herbert Lippert, Gottlieb Wallisch, Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, Friedemann Katt, Clemens and Dominik Hellsberg.
